Eligibility Requirements
  • Members of foreign government diplomatic missions or consular offices accredited to the Korean government
  • Diplomatic staff such as ambassadors, ministers, counselors, and secretaries accredited to Korea
  • Consular officials such as consuls general and consuls accredited to the Korean government
  • Individuals entitled to diplomatic privileges and immunities equivalent to diplomatic missions under treaties or international customs
  • UN Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General, heads of UN specialized agencies, etc.
  • Heads of state, cabinet ministers, speakers of both houses, members of delegations attending government-hosted conferences, etc.
  • Families of the above individuals
  • Families include spouses, children, parents, etc., who belong to the same household as diplomats stationed in Korea
Required Documents
  • Visa application form, passport, 1 standard photo, fee
  • Documents certifying dispatch or employment, or an official note (note verbale) issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the relevant country
  • For accompanying families of foreign government diplomatic missions or consular offices: family relationship documents such as family relationship certificate, birth certificate issued by home country
  • For activities outside visa status

    Passport, integrated application form

    Fee (non-status activities 120,000 won): Accompanying families of U.S. embassy staff are exempt from fees under reciprocity

    Employment recommendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Diplomatic Mission Officer) (required)

    Documents required for non-status activities by visa category (qualification requirements, etc.)
