Eligibility Requirements
  • D-8-1

    Essential professional personnel intending to engage in management, administration, or production and technology fields of Korean corporations as foreign investment enterprises under the Foreign Investment Promotion Act

  • Basic requirements

    Investment target must be Korean corporation

    Investment amount 100 million won or more, ownership of 10% or more of total voting shares

    Investment funds in principle under own name; exceptionally recognize transfer and proxy remittance in spouse and minor children's names

  • D-8-2

    Representative of venture company established under the Venture Business Development Act or representative of company with excellent technology

  • Basic requirements

    Venture company founder possessing intellectual property rights or company representative with excellent technology

  • D-8-3

    Essential professional personnel intending to engage in management, administration, or production technology fields of companies operated by Korean nationals as foreign investment enterprises under the Foreign Investment Promotion Act

  • Basic requirements

    Investment target must be company operated by Korean nationals

    Investment amount 100 million won or more, ownership of 10% or more of total investment

    Must be registered as co-representative

    Registered as co-representative with Korean on business registration

  • D-8-4

    Corporation founder with bachelor's degree or higher from domestic or overseas who possesses intellectual property rights or equivalent technology

  • Basic requirements

    Individual with associate degree or higher, or startup founder possessing intellectual property rights or technology

    Additional documents: Dispatch order (stating dispatch period), certificate of employment, foreign investment enterprise registration copy, business registration copy, corporate register, original shareholder change status statement, investment fund introduction documents

    Additional documents for individual investors with investment amount less than 300 million won: Capital use details documents (product purchase receipts, office interior costs, domestic bank account deposit/withdrawal statements, etc.), documents proving business location existence (office lease contract, business location panorama, office space, signboard photos, etc.), home country documents related to business experience in relevant industry or field (submit if necessary)

  • D-8-2: Venture company representative or excellent technology company representative

    Basic documents: Visa application form, passport, 1 standard photo, fee

    Additional documents: Business registration copy, corporate register, venture company confirmation or preliminary venture company confirmation, documents proving technology such as intellectual property possession (copies of patent, utility model registration, design registration, trademark registration, copyright registration, etc., technology excellence evaluation from Technology Credit Guarantee Fund or Small and Medium Business Corporation)

  • D-8-3: Essential professional personnel in management, administration, or production technology fields of foreign investment enterprises

    Basic documents: Visa application form, passport, 1 standard photo, fee

    Additional documents: Foreign investment enterprise registration copy, co-business Korean national's business funds (use details) documents, business registration copy showing co-business partners, original joint business agreement, investment fund introduction documents

    Documents for point system exemption targets (technology startup special provision targets): K-Startup Grand Challenge participants: Basic documents + Grand Challenge participation confirmation issued by Ministry of SMEs and Startups, recommendation from Minister of SMEs and Startups

    Government startup support program beneficiaries: Basic documents + recommendation from Minister of SMEs and Startups

    Startup Korea special visa: Basic documents + recommendation from Minister of SMEs and Startups
