Eligibility Requirements
  • Individuals engaged in natural science, social science, humanities, arts and sports field research or industrial advanced technology research and development at research institutions under the Specific Research Institutions Promotion Act, Act on the Establishment, Operation and Promotion of Government-funded Research Institutions, Act on the Establishment, Operation and Promotion of Government-funded Research Institutions in Science and Technology Fields
  • Scientists and engineers engaged in research activities at research institutions under the Defense Acquisition Program Act

  • Scientists and engineers researching at the following institutions or organizations under contract to develop natural science fields or industrial advanced technology under the Industrial Technology Innovation Promotion Act and related laws

    Individuals with employment recommendation from Minister of Science and ICT intending to engage in natural science field research or industrial advanced technology research and development at government-funded research institutes, national/public research institutes, enterprise-affiliated research institutes, and other science and engineering research institutions

  • Individuals intending to conduct social science, humanities, arts and sports field research at junior colleges or higher educational institutions or other academic research institutions

  • Qualifications

    Doctoral degree holders (expected recipients)

    Master's degree holders with 3 or more years of experience (however, domestic master's degree holders exempted from experience requirement)

  • Certificate of visa issuance application
  • Passport
  • 1 standard photo
  • Employer establishment documents: business registration or corporate register, research institution documents, etc.
  • Master's degree or higher certificate
  • Career certificate (if applicable)
  • Employment contract or expected appointment confirmation
  • Certificate issued in university representative's name (if applicable): Expected graduation certificate, confirmation, etc., certificate confirming degree award date
