2024.09.18 01:47I haven’t been in Korea for the duration of my visa (because of some family issues) but I still have 3 days left on my visa and will be coming back to extend…
Now I have 2 questions :
1- If I arrive on the 20th of September and expiration date is 21st will I be able to get in? I was told I just need to prove that I have been looking for jobs and did interviews
2- I didn’t pay for the insurance for the months I was not in Korea And I am wondering if I will have to pay it to be able to extend ? I can provide nhis a proof for not being in the country …
Will that be possible? I mean not paying ㅠㅠ

1년 전For your first question, yes, you should be able to enter Korea on the 20th if your visa is still valid until the 21st. Just make sure you have proof of your job search and any interviews to support your visa extension request.
And for for the insurance, since you were not in Korea, you can provide proof to the NHIS showing your absence. This might work but the safest option to ask this question directly to the NHIS as well

Question 2 - As far as I know, if you are out of Korea for more than 1 month, your insurance automatically stops and resumes when you re-enter Korea. However, as @vzmts8883 mentioned, it is better to check with NHIS directly.
