Hey all, i need some advice on personal matters. I was working under e-7, but I was made redundant yesterday. I have only 1 month to look for another job in Seoul. I’m going to try my best to secure something, but even if I don’t find a new job, is there anyway I can extend my stay in Seoul?

I’m very sorry to hear that. I’m sure you will get something within a month, but if you don’t I would recommend exiting the country and comeback with tourist visa and continue to look for jobs. Your current place of rent, bank acct, mobile phone plans wouldn’t be affected. If you have a bit of flexibility on financials, I would suggest taking korean language classes to get you valid visa.

One of the things that I do before my visa expires, I get out of the country (like japan, Thailand or somewhere near to Korea) and then come back to Korea. This resets my tourist visa and lets me stay in Korea up to 3 months. If you’re okay with Tourist visa, I could suggest you that

In any case that you can’t find a job in e-7 visa I can suggest you change your visa type to startup visa d-8-4. You can get it easily. My friends received 6 months of stay after applying. Good luck
