Wow, it’s only been a month, but it feels like six. The sheer number of projects my boss has managed to squeeze out of me is both impressive and slightly terrifying. Working in a small company with a lot of job and thigns that been ignored all this time(branding, website 3d design ect) means the range of tasks a designer has to juggle is insane. Honestly, it made me realize how good of a professional I am and that I deserve a senior status at this point (if only my title and annual wage reflected that!) Not much has changed since my last post, except for one thing: I’ve adapted to the pace, and the team. Speaking of the team—they’re awesome. The boss? Let’s just say… still a spoiled baby at least it looks like he likes me 😂 First time mentioning it, at the momemt I work for an event/conference organization and design company as a 2D/3D designer (well somehow I also do UI UX, brandign, some web coding etc). *Call me if you in need of the event organization or design :} Initially, I was really intrigued since the job kinda aligns with my degree in Architecture (spatial deign) and interests toward the fast paced spatial design(pop-ups, exhibition etc. where I want to pursue my career). But here’s where it gets interesting (and slightly disappointing): I recently learned that the business model in this field is kind of weird—lowkey even stupid, company has to pay for everythign upfront and if things go south we might not even make any money from the project. Margin is not taht bad but also not great so It’s making me seriously reconsider the long-term prospects of staying in this industry... Well we need VISA and the job is interesting so far so I'll stick for some time 🚩🚩🚩 Pro Tip for Anyone Looking for Jobs 🚩🚩🚩 If you ever hear the term “BTL” (Below The Line) thrown around, it refers to companies business model of which I explained above and that are considered to feed of clients and apparently often looked down on by cleints… reconsider and maybe even run If you not mentally ready for all stress that just there in the air... Seriously, get out of there :)
