2025.01.17 00:21What do you guys think— My boss suddenly overly nice which makes me weirdly suspicious and kinda happy(more like appreciated) ? 😅
I’ve been working with Korean people and communicating with them for years, but honestly, I still feel like I don’t fully understand the working environment here.
Recently, my boss has been oddly nice to me. Generous, even. 🤨 And it’s making me wonder… am I just overthinking this, or is something up? I mean, I’m not getting fired, right? 😟
You know, I’ve written a lot about how busy I am and how relentless the workload can be. But when I finally get good treatment and my work isn’t overly judged, I actually enjoy it 😂
Still, it makes me a bit uneasy. If my work pleases my boss now, won’t the expectations just keep climbing? 😬
What do you think? Am I overthinking this, or is this just what work-life balance looks like in Korea?
Would love to hear your thoughts!

1년 전I totally get what you mean! Working in Korea can sometimes feel like a rollercoaster, especially when it comes to understanding workplace dynamics. 😅 It’s great that your boss is being nice—it could just mean they’re genuinely appreciating your hard work. But I understand why it might feel a bit unsettling, especially if it’s a sudden change. Maybe they’ve noticed how much effort you’re putting in and wanted to acknowledge it?

1년 전As for the expectations, that’s definitely something to keep in mind. It’s great to be recognized, but it’s also okay to set boundaries if the workload gets too much. Balance is key!
You’re not alone in feeling this way—navigating workplace culture here can be tricky. But hey, it sounds like you’re doing an amazing job if your boss is happy with you! 😊 화이팅!!
