2025.04.02 18:26Hello Lounge, how are you guys doing? 🙋🏻♀️
Today I'd like to share my experience interviewing with Korean companies as an expat. With at least 4 years of working experience, I've got some helpful tips to help you succeed! 😉
▶️ Interview Structure
First, you need to pass the resume screening - having a Korean version of your resume is definitely a plus! 👍🏻
The next step is the interview process, which varies by company but usually involves 2 rounds:
- First interview: You'll typically meet with your potential team leader or teammates. Be prepared to discuss the company's business, products, and strategy (especially if you have relevant experience).
- Second interview: Often held with the CEO (especially in startups). This stage focuses on cultural fit to see if you'll mesh well with the team. Salary negotiations usually happen here too.
▶️ Common Questions and Expectations
Be ready for personal questions about your marriage plans, family background, and age. As foreigners, most companies will ask about your future plans for the next few years. They want to know if you're planning to stay in Korea long-term or if you might head back to your home country soon.
✨ Preparation Tips ✨
- Research the company thoroughly
- Dress appropriately - business casual is usually fine, but prepare on the conservative side when in doubt
- Prepare clear explanations of your career history that emphasize stability
- Learn some basic Korean phrases
Hope this helps! Good luck with your interviews! 🚀

6개월 전This has been really helpful. Yes, I agree, it is always good to do some research on the company, and at the end of the interview it is always good to ask them a couple of questions as well, such as what they can offer you in the role.
