🧅 101 Surviving guide in Kor companies

Felt like I would like to expand on the topic of Korean work environment and how I would approach it if I would start again :} 1. Always have Trump Cards Koreans respect visible/trackable skills, not just "doing your job," so have something special in your arsenal. I always been curious about the other sides of my work so I tend to spend free time learning this little tricks and when opportunity comes it's natural to show it off "Oh yeah, I know how / can do that". Try to stay curious, don't get too comfortable and stagnate because you learned "everything" about your job. 2. Talk. Like, All The Time About life, about work, your past experince definetelly differs from the expirience of the locals, so sharing it will help understand each other professionally and personally. I am pretty introverted (INFT) but I love to get to know new people around me so its was rather simple so far. If you are not too confident take your time and just communicate with one closest to you person. It gonna spread like a fire cz probably people have even more interest to you. 3. Stop Trying to Be Korean One of the biggest mistake I made is thinking I had to act like my Korean coworkers. We are different and that why we are valuable so embrace your foreignness when it helps. But! don't hide behind it or it can backfire and build a wall between your and coworkers 4. Document Your Perfomance! I have this ugly Google Sheet where I log: ✓ Every project I did ✓ Every innovation I bring to the process ✓ Every time I save money/time to the company ✓ Even random compliments from colleagues regarding my work So when raise season comes? I'm ready with proofs I really wanna talk about how to deal with Korean bosses cz crucial to "suceeding" in Korean company enivonment but I need to organize my thoughts :) So I'll write about it in the next post
