I graduated and am now working at a Korean company, but I also did an internship during the semester, which was actually an extension of my summer internship. So, if you ask what the recommended period for student internships is, I’d say the first would be during vacation periods: Summer (July–August) and Winter (January–February) breaks are when students are free from classes and can work full-time. Internship durations are usually 4–8 weeks, and many Korean companies and government programs offer structured internship programs during these times. ✅ Make sure to check the visa regulations before applying! There are also internships during the semester (part-time internships) like the one I did in my fourth year. These are usually part-time and more flexible, depending on the student’s class schedule. 📌 Extra Tips: Many Korean companies prefer interns who are in their 3rd or 4th year, since they’re closer to graduation and more likely to be hired. If you’re currently in your 3rd or 4th year and looking for an internship, try starting your search right after midterms, that’s when I found mine, too! Big companies (like Samsung, LG, Hyundai, etc.) offer formal internship programs, and they often require students to apply several months in advance. These internships are also great for building long-term relationships with companies and may even lead to full-time job offers.

I found this article really helpful in understanding the best timing for internships in Korea, especially the part about applying after midterms during the 3rd or 4th year. I'm currently looking for a marketing-related internship and wondering if part-time opportunities during the semester are common or recommended. Has anyone here tried balancing a semester internship with classes? Would love to hear how you managed your schedule or if you have any program recommendations!

I did my internship during the semester. At that time, I only had three classes a week, so I went to work two days a week. I personally really liked it because it kind of balanced my life between school and work haha.
