In Korea, monthly utility bills like electricity, gas, and water are delivered to your mailbox, usually on yellow or white paper. These bills show your total usage, the amount to pay, the deadline (납부기한), and a barcode. There are a few easy ways to pay: 1. Bank Transfer (계좌이체) You’ll find a bank account number printed on the bill. You can transfer the exact amount using any Korean banking app such as Kakaobank, Toss, KB, or Hana. Make sure the transfer matches the amount and any reference info listed on the bill. 2. Convenience Store Payment Take the bill to any convenience store like CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, or Emart24. Go to the counter, hand the bill to the cashier, and pay in cash only (cards are usually not accepted for utility bills). They will scan the barcode and give you a stamped receipt as proof of payment. 3. Mobile App or ATM Some Korean bank apps allow you to scan the barcode on the bill directly for payment. You can also use an ATM (in Korean) to input the barcode number and pay that way. Make sure to pay before the due date to avoid late fees or service interruptions. Keep the receipt just in case you ever need to confirm the payment.
