T-money is the rechargeable transportation card used across Korea for subways, buses, taxis, and even small purchases at convenience stores. If you’re staying in Korea, you’ll definitely need it. Here’s how to recharge it easily: 1. At Convenience Stores Go to any CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, or Emart24. Hand your card to the cashier and tell them the amount you want to add. For example, say “삼천 원 충전해주세요” (please charge 3,000 won). You can pay with cash or card, and the balance will be updated instantly. 2. At Subway Stations Find a T-money recharge machine near the ticket gates. Choose English on the screen Place your T-money card on the reader Select the amount you want to add Insert cash (machines usually don’t take cards) Your card will be charged right away 3. Using Your Phone (if supported) Some Korean apps like T-money Pay allow mobile top-ups if your phone supports NFC and Korean payment systems. This method usually works only with Korean bank cards, so it may not be available for foreigners. You can check your card balance at any subway gate, machine, or convenience store. If your card is lost and not registered, the balance cannot be recovered, so try to keep it safe.
