So, you’ve graduated, or your current visa status is about to change, and now you need to switch to a different visa like the D-10 (job-seeking) visa. But how do you actually book the appointment? Don’t worry, I’ve been through this myself, and here’s a quick and simple guide to help you out. Step 1: Go to the HiKorea Website Everything related to immigration in Korea is done through the HiKorea website. You’ll need to create an account first (if you haven’t already), so have your ARC (Alien Registration Card) number ready. Once you’re logged in, look for “Reservation to Visit” (방문예약) on the homepage. Step 2: Choose the Right Immigration Office You need to select the immigration office in charge of your registered address. For example, if you live in Seoul, it will likely be Seoul Immigration Office (Omokgyo), but double-check based on your gu (district). Tip: Appointments open around 14 days in advance, and slots go fast. Try logging in early morning (around 9–10am) to check for new availability. Step 3: Select “Change of Visa Status” (체류자격변경) When choosing the type of service, click on 체류자격변경 (Change of Status of Stay) if you’re switching from a D-2 (student) to a D-10 (job-seeking) visa, for example. Choose your preferred date and time. Step 4: Confirm and Print Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll get a confirmation page. Screenshot it or print it out and bring it with you on the day of your appointment along with all your documents. Changing your visa can feel overwhelming at first, but once you figure out the system, it’s actually pretty smooth. Just make sure to book early, bring all the required documents, and stay calm. You got this!
