☺️ Please introduce yourself
Hello, my name is Majdouline Bouroua. I am from Morocco and currently living in Busan, South Korea. I was born and raised in the city of Rabat. I have always been interested in exploring new cultures, learning new languages and meeting people from different backgrounds. I speak Arabic, French, English, Korean and a little bit of Spanish. I am a very curious and outgoing person, I am always up for new adventures and stepping out of my comfort zone. All the experiences and challenges I have been through so far shape the person who I am today.
👩🏻🎓 What's your major?
I am a senior biomedical engineering student in Pukyong National University. I am also doing a minor in international studies, I chose this as it reflects my interest in international relations and global exchanges.
🇰🇷 How did you come to Korea?
I came to Korea through the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Program!
🏖️ How’s living in Busan?
I am enjoying my life here in Busan. Busan is a beautiful city. There are many activities to do and a lot of entertainment that’s why I don’t get bored. I grew up in a coastal city so I feel very comfortable here and find life in Busan quite familiar, that’s why I didn’t have much difficulties adapting to life here.
❣️ What would you recommend to other students who would like to come to Korea to have their best time here?
1️⃣ I would definitely recommend visiting historical monuments such as palaces (Gyeobokkung, old temples), I believe it is an authentic and impactful experience. Korean nature is beautiful and diverse so hiking, walking around forests and going to waterfalls, valleys and beaches are very refreshing and healing adventures.
2️⃣ Wearing Hanbok, taking pictures at the photobooth, going to karaoke, and arcades can be very exciting and stress relieving. Eating street food, visiting shopping streets and late night markets can be very original and fun experiences in Korea. I would also recommend people who like gaming like me, to try PC rooms, which are a hub for amateur gamers, being in that environment can be very fun and exciting, also the food there is quite delicious haha.
3️⃣ For studying, cafés can be very famous spots for studying among Korean students, as some cafés dedicate a space or a floor where students can study. Another famous studying spots in South Korea are Study cafés. They are very equipped facilities for studying, although you have to pay per hour, it is a suitable studying place where you can study and concentrate.
✅ How was your overall experience studying in Korea?
Thrilling, Fulfilling, Impactful
✅ What’s the most ‘K-drama’ moment you’ve experienced in Korea?
회식 with professor and classmates./ going to the convenience store at 3pm to eat 삼각김밥, 라면 and 바나나 우유.
